Frequently asked questions

How do I care for this jewellery?

☀Stainless Steel - To protect the black patina and wax coating on the cord, remove all jewellery before swimming, showering, and similar activities.Long term exposure to moisture can affect jewellery.

☀Brass - Avoid exposure to hairspray, water &soap. Brass will darken over time and look more antique. Dab a tiny amount of vinegar on a cloth and wipe the brass to make it golden and shiny again. A jewellery polishing cloth also works well for polishing brass.

The item I wanted is sold out/or I need more than the quantity available, can I place an order?

If you would like to order multiples of our current stainless steel designs or a sold item, please send us a message. We may have more stock on hand, or can do a Made-To-Order. Production times for Made-to-Order vary, depending on our travel and craft show schedule at the time of order. We will discuss this with you, and give an accurate timeline.

Custom and personalized orders

-We do take custom orders for etching NEW stainless steel pendants, you can provide art or we can design for you. Please contact us to discuss rates and production times.

-Due to the complicated electro-etching process, only ONE side of the metal is etched. We cannot customize/etch or stamp on the back.

-Pendants can be made flat instead of curved, if you would like to take your piece to be engraved by a business in your area.

Can I have a Chain instead of a Cord/ Cord instead of a Chain?

- If a pendant is listed on a chain (a necklace), & you prefer the adjustable cotton cord; please contact us BEFORE purchase and we will make a listing for you at the lower price.

- CHAINS: Chain Upgrade listings are available to purchase, add to your cart along with one of our pendants. Chain cost - an additional $6-$8.30.
Standard lengths are 16, 18, 20, 21.5 inches, but we can make an odd length. Request for a longer length? Send us a message.

- CORDS: Adjustable sliding knot waxed cotton cord (maximum extension 29") can be made longer. Or if you prefer a shorter set length with a clasp 16", 18", etc... Tell us the length & we will add coil ends & spring ring clasp.

Is VAT tax included in the price & shipping fees?

Yes, the European Union (EU), the United Kingdom & Norway require Etsy to collect and submit applicable VAT, which Etsy adds to our prices. The price you see will INCLUDE VAT in your currency. Put items in your cart, then view the cart to see the separate taxes, item prices, and delivery cost.

How thick are the earring wires?

When measuring wire, we use the American Wire Gauge (AWG) a.k.a. Brown and Sharpe. Depending on the metal, many different gauge systems are used in the metals industry. Since we use a variety of metals, we find it simpler to stick to one system. Measurements in Millimeters and Inches (sometimes decimal, sometimes fractions) are also provided in our listings.
For wire gauge, the higher the number, the thinner the wire.

20 gauge/.8mm / .032" : is the wire we use to create handcrafted sterling wires, and have found in years of experience that the majority can comfortably wear this thickness.
19 gauge is .9mm / .036"
21 gauge is .7mm / .028"
